Windle's Bulk Haulage Pty Ltd ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information when you visit our website or engage our container transport and storage services. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
1. The information we collect
We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our business. Depending on how you deal with us, this may include:
- Contact and enquiry details that you give us when you request a quote, send an enquiry through our website, or contact us by phone or email. This typically includes your name, business name, email address, phone number, and the details of your enquiry or job.
- Job and account information needed to provide and invoice our services, such as pickup and delivery addresses, container details, and billing information.
- Website usage information collected automatically when you browse the site, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and the date and time of your visit. This is general in nature and is used to keep the site working and to understand how it is used.
We do not collect sensitive information (such as health or financial account information) through this website.
2. How we collect it
We collect most personal information directly from you, when you complete our contact or quote form, call us, email us, or otherwise engage our services. Some website usage information is collected automatically through your browser when you load a page (see clause 1). Where it is reasonable and practicable, we will collect your personal information directly from you.
3. Why we collect and use it
We use your personal information to:
- respond to your enquiries and provide quotes;
- arrange, perform and manage our transport and storage services;
- invoice you and manage payments and our accounts;
- communicate with you about your job or account;
- maintain, improve and secure our website; and
- meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We will not use your personal information for a purpose that is unrelated to the above without your consent, unless we are required or permitted to by law.
4. When we disclose it
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose it to:
- service providers who help us run our business and website, such as IT, hosting and accounting providers, who are only permitted to use it for that purpose;
- subcontractors engaged to carry out part of a job, where necessary to complete your transport or storage; and
- government bodies, regulators, or others where we are required or authorised to do so by law.
Some of the providers we use to run this website and our email are based overseas and handle personal information on servers outside Australia. Our website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (United States) and our email runs on Microsoft 365, operated by Microsoft Corporation (United States). When you send an enquiry through this site, it passes through our hosting provider before it is delivered to our Bookings mailbox. We take reasonable steps to ensure that any overseas recipient handles your personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
5. Cookies and analytics
This website does not set any cookies. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies, and there is no cookie banner because there is nothing for you to consent to.
We use Vercel Web Analytics to see how the site is being used, so we know which pages are worth keeping and improving. It is cookieless and sets no cookies at all. It does not identify you as an individual and does not follow you across other websites. What it records is a count of page views, the referrer that brought you to the site (for example a search engine or another website), the general type of device and browser you used, and the country you visited from. Those figures are reported to us as totals, not as a record of any one person's visit. Vercel Web Analytics is operated by our hosting provider, Vercel Inc., which is based in the United States (see clause 4).
6. How we store and protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This includes appropriate access controls and secure storage. When personal information is no longer needed for any purpose for which it may be used or disclosed, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it, unless we are required to retain it by law.
7. Accessing and correcting your information
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. To make a request, please contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time. There is no charge for making a request, although we may charge a reasonable fee for giving access in some cases.
8. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us using the details below and we will work with you to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website, and the date at the top shows when it was last updated. We encourage you to review it periodically.
